Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston), director of national operations at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright. Her
birthplace was San Diego, California. She started her career when she was 14
working as a model. She worked in Paris, Japan and Paris. When she graduated
from high school she became an actor. She was cast in the soap show Santa
Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy.
Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast member, and she got married to the actor
in 1986. Meanwhile, she starred in The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title
character. Following her departure from Santa Barbara, she was given the lead
role in Denial (1990) as well as Jason Patric. It was during State of Grace
(1990) at the time she got to know Sean Penn. They had daughters Dylan Frances
and a son Hopper Jack. After a short break, Robin was back to Hollywood with
one of the most memorable parts of her career: She was Tara in The Playboys
(1992). She was stunning and brilliant. She was a star in Toys (1992), a comedy
with Robin Williams. It was hilarious. In 1994, Wright was in the blockbuster
success Forrest Gump (1994), alongside Tom Hanks. For her performance as Jenny
she was awarded an award nomination for the Golden Globe Award. She got a small
role in The Crossing Guard (1995), which starred Jack Nicholson. After
declining 14 roles she played the title role of MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996),
directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing.
Later, she appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) co-starring William Hurt.
